Harold Lloyd, Never Weaken, Part One.
November 12, 2008, admin
Filmed in 1921, this was Lloyd’s last short film before he moved to a feature film format. The comedy is very physical and the film crew (and Lloyd) learned the stunt techniques that would be put to even more spectacular use in Safety Last.
In this first reel, Harold uses an ingenious and unethical means of drumming up trade for his girlfriend’s Osteopath employer.
Today, Harold Lloyd is - quite unjustifiably - an almost forgotten comic genius. Fortunately, there are now some fantastic collections on DVD. Watch Harold’s best films as they should be seen! Just follow the links below to find these at the cheapest prices available - they make ideal birthday or Christmas presents.
